Out comes the Marcello — a deep navy canopy releasing in one fluid motion, the wood crook handle settling into the palm like it was carved for the occasion. They walk into the meeting dry. Composed. There is a particular kind of object that earns its keep simply by being there when needed, and the umbrella is the patron saint of that category. The Marcello opens automatically at the press of a button, stretches across a 52cm span, and offers eight generous panels for branding — 180 x 110mm in single colour, or a full 210 x 150mm in full colour digital transfer when the artwork deserves the room. The crook handle, in genuine wood, gives the whole thing a weight that plastic alternatives never quite manage.
