Flourish seeded papers are handmade from recycled stock with live seeds suspended through the fibre. Full-colour printing on a naturally matt, lightly textured surface — the seeds give the sheet its tooth. Once the message has done its work, the card is buried under a thin layer of soil, kept moist, and within days it begins to germinate. The paper composts into the bed as the seedlings rise. Zero waste, by design.

Seed varieties span the kitchen garden: basil, chamomile, chives, lemon balm, marjoram, oregano, flat-leaf and curled parsley, savory, tarragon, thyme, and a vegetable selection. Sheets are available in various sizes to suit invitations, postcards, business cards, conference mailers and packaging inserts. Minimum order 250 units, lead time three to five days, from $2.20.

A note on success: the seeds sit within the thickness of the paper, so the soil needs to stay damp until germination. Tell your recipients. The ones who follow through tend to send you photographs months later, which is the entire point.

When you are finished using the card there is zero waste: Simply place the seed paper under a thin layer of soil, keep moist and then over a short period of time the seeds will germinate and the actual paper will eventually breakdown in the soil.

Each sheet of paper is hand made and printed in full colour from supplied art and with several seed varieties to choose from. A great alternative to commercial paper!

The paper has a natural matt finish and textured surface from the embedded seeds.

NOTE: Best results will depend on making sure the paper remains moist until after the seeds have germinated. Many of the seeds lay within the thickness of the paper so if not kept moist the seeds will tend to struggle to push through.
